How do I change the picture quality setting?
- Open Handyman Mobile
- Tap the hamburger menu icon in the Navigation bar
- Select Settings
- Tap Picture
- Choose your preferred quality level
The new setting takes effect immediately for all photos you capture through the app camera.
What is the difference between camera photos and gallery photos?
The Picture setting only applies to photos you take using Handyman Mobile's built-in camera. Photos you add from your device's existing gallery are not resized — they upload at their original size regardless of this setting.
When should I use lower quality?
- You work in areas with poor mobile network coverage
- You need fast synchronisation times
- Photos are for basic documentation rather than detailed technical records
When should I use higher quality?
- You need to capture serial numbers, labels, or fine technical details
- You create customer-facing documentation where image quality matters
- You have a reliable network connection and upload speed is not a concern
What quality levels are available?
Handyman Mobile offers three picture quality levels:
- Low — Smallest file size. Best for quick documentation where visual clarity is less critical, or in areas with slow network coverage.
- Medium — Balanced option for most field work. Good image clarity with manageable file sizes and sync times.
- High — Largest file size and best clarity. Use when capturing serial numbers, fine labels, technical details, or producing customer-facing documentation.
Does changing the setting affect previously taken photos?
No. The Picture setting only applies to photos taken after the change. Photos already registered on orders are not modified.
