What does Order configuration control?
The Order menu under Company configuration contains settings that apply to all orders created in Handyman. These fall into three areas:
- Default values — pre-filled settings applied to new orders unless overridden by you. Defaults do not lock the field — users can still change them.
- Order type availability — which order types (work order, service order, repair order, internal order, etc.) are available to users when creating a new order
- Requirements — mandatory fields or conditions that must be met before an order can be completed or invoiced
How do I access Order configuration?
- In Handyman Office, go to Configuration → Company (CTRL+F7)
- Click the Order tab
- Adjust the settings as required
- Click OK to save
Which order types can I enable or disable?
The following order types can be enabled or disabled from this screen:
- Work order, Service order, Repair order
- Installation order, Internal order
- Invoice order, Free order
Disabling an order type removes it from the New order wizard for all users. Only disable types your organisation does not use.
