Resource planner
We have introduced many enhancements to the Resource planner to make planning and re-planning faster and more intuitive.
Change participant via Edit Task dialog.
You can now select a new participant for the task by double-clicking on the task and selecting a new participant in the name field.
Quickly accept tentative tasks
Now, a tentative task can be accepted by right-clicking on the task and choosing the first menu item.
Set tasks as agreed with the customer
When a date and time are agreed upon with a customer, the task can be locked for re-planning with this option. It will remain locked until it is manually unlocked.
On Handyman Mobile, this will also be indicated on the task with a lock icon, and re-planning will be locked there, too. |
Added function for splitting multi-day tasks into several full-day tasks
Multi-day tasks can be divided into one task daily for easier planning and re-planning of individual days if necessary.
Prerequisite - start/end time has to be within specified working hours.
A new resolution selector quickly switches between resolutions in the timeline view.
Choose the desired options and click on the calendar to change the resolution.
Select different column widths with the mouse wheel
Hold the CTRL button when using the mouse wheel to change the column width quickly.
Other improvements
Better visibility of holidays and outside working hours
Weekends, outside working hours, and holidays in the planner are now more accessible.
Quickly move to the planner with the newly created order
When a new order is created from the planner, move back to the planner with a new order in focus using the "Save and plan" button in the order creation screen.
The updated task edit dialog has more order information available
We have added more order and customer-related info to the task edit dialog.
- Requested start or finish date from the customer

Faster report loading
All reports now load much faster. Up to 40% speed increase.
Report management and editing
Much faster when updating the report tree structure and publishing report versions. Old versions of built-in reports are removed
NHO Elektro checklists and report layouts
This version includes new report layouts for the Declaration of Conformity, NHO Elektro checklists, and Circuit list. 23 new checklist templates are available. Please follow the instructions here to upgrade your checklist. These checklists are exclusive for NHO Elektro members, except the "5—sikre" checklist, Declaration of conformity, and Circuit list, which are available for all.
Send SMS with personalized sender name
Our new SMS provider supports text-based sender IDs, which means that when you communicate with your customers via SMS, your company name (or department) will appear as the sender.
This is for our customers using the Event and Activity Notifications modules. The sender ID is automatically filled in from your company name, but it might need adjusting due to the 11-character limitation. This can be done under System -> Settings -> SMS Gateway -> SMS sender ID. Additionally, some technical info needs to be configured. Please get in touch with Handyman Support to get help with this configuration. For Handyman Cloud customers, this configuration is already complete.
Info bar in the login screen
We introduce live news from Handyman with colored text indicating if it's general information (Blue), important notice (Yellow), or critical warnings (Red).
- One goal is to ease communication by providing information regarding maintenance hours when the application is inaccessible.
- With 9.8.6, the messages will only be available for our cloud version. A later version might introduce this to all customers.
