The list in this section shows all the active checklists in the client.
An active checklist is one that is connected to one or more work groups.
If a checklist has been set as inactive it you can view by checking the box for inactive checklists next to the search field.
There are two methods for adding new checklists to Handyman Office.
Adding a pre-made checklist from a template that is included in the installation or creating the whole thing yourself.
Deleting a checklist depends on whether or not it has been used before.
If there is a connection to an order it will not be possible to delete it outright but it you can set as inactive.
In the edit window you have different tabs for information and configuration.
General
Editing checklists allows you to change most of the properties of a checklist and add new points. You cannot remove points from a checklist that has been used on an order — doing so would create a discrepancy in the order history.
You can change the name and description of the checklist. Checklists can be organised by category using the drop-down menu. If you want the checklist to generate a declaration of conformity report, select this option in the drop-down menu.
Use the buttons above the point list to add new main points and sub-points, change the order of points, and remove unused points. Contact GSG Handyman Support if you need help restructuring an in-use checklist.
- Headings are simply banners with text and are mainly for grouping points in checklists.
- Carried out/Not relevant is a binary choice with 1 option that can be skipped.
- Yes/No/Not relevant gives 3 options where 2 are valid for completing the point.
- OK/Discrepancy is a binary choice without the option to skip the point.
- Text type points are used to display plain text on the checklist.
- List points present a drop-down list with options defined in the checklist setup.
- Numeric points are text fields limited to numbers.
- Date points opens the date picker in Handyman Mobile.
Point definitions make up the majority of customization options for a checklist.
- The drop-down menu for activating sub-points is used to make some points depend on the value entered for this point.
This is used to make checklists more dynamic by skipping irrelevant points when they are not needed. - If a point you need the checklist can not be finished without entering a value.
Setting a point as required will also disable the option to set the point as not relevant. - Do this before entry will prompt the Handyman Mobile user to fill out the point before any other work is done on the order.
- Approve materials and hours checks the order for entries in the Hours and Materials list.
- If the checklist is a declaration of conformity you can tag specific points to be displayed in the report.
- Order description mandatory prevents the completion of the point if the order does not contain a description.
- Show on printout makes the information on the point appear on the printed report of the checklist.
This option is normally turned off for points not containing any relevant information for the end customer. - Do not print if 'Not relevant' will hide the point from the printed report rather than showing an empty line.
- Additional information required makes the information field mandatory to complete the point.
- Measuring value adds a new field of the checklist for the participant has to fill out to complete the point.
- Must select from list is only available on list type points.
- Whole number only is a restriction that you can set on numeric points.
- Minimum and maximum value is a limitation that can be specified for numeric points.
- Instructions is the text displayed on the point in Handyman Mobile and you can use to explain what information is supposed to be filled in.
