Groups are used in Handyman to grant a selection of users access to certain data. Two different kind of groups exist
- Cost Element Groups
Used to grant access to Cost Elements - Trade Groups
Used to grant access to other kinds of basic data like supplier catalogues and checklists
The standard implementation assumes that only one Cost Element Group and only one Trade Group exist.
You may add more groups if more granular user rights are needed. Be aware that additional groups also increase the complexity of the system and may make it hard to understand why certain users do (not) have access to certain data.
Cost Element Group
System — Group — Cost element group
- When creating Cost Elements, they have been added to the Cost Element Group right away. No change is required here
- However, you need to add the users that should be allowed to use these Cost Elements: Double-click on the line "Users" and associate the right users with the group. Typically all users of Handyman Mobile are in the Cost Element Group.
Trade Group
System — Group — Trade group
- Double-click on the line "Users" and associate the right users with the group. Typically all users of Handyman Mobile are in this group.
- Double-click on the line "Supplier pricelist" and associate the right suppliers with the group. Typically all suppliers are in this group.
- When creating Checklists, they have been added to the Trade Group right away. No change is required here.
