Use one Handyman Mobile licence on multiple devices, and switch between them as you go through the day.
Handyman Mobile lets a user share one licence across multiple devices — for example, registering materials and hours on a phone in the field, then switching to a tablet or laptop to write descriptions and summaries.
Because Handyman Mobile works offline, multi-device use follows a "log off / log on" approach. This makes sure all data is delivered before the user continues on a different device, prevents data conflicts, and ensures information already sent to external systems stays unchanged.
Prerequisites
- Handyman Office 9.2.1 or newer
- The new Handyman Mobile (Xamarin) app
- Each user must have a password set
How does multi-device use work?
You can use the same Handyman Mobile licence on up to 5 devices.
- Log out of one device before logging in on another. If you try to synchronise a new device without logging out, you will see a warning that you may lose unsynchronised entries.
- You can force the new login if you no longer have access to the previous device.
- All registrations are synchronised through Handyman Office, so the data is always up to date.
- In the user overview, each unique login appears as a separate row, with the most recent synchronisation at the top.
How does an administrator enable multi-device use?
An administrator must enable the feature in Handyman Office before users can log in on more than one device.
- In Handyman Office, go to Configuration → Company → Other.
- Tick Allow multiple mobile devices per user.
- Save the configuration.
When you tick the checkbox, Handyman Office shows the following warning: "Data loss may occur when switching between devices. To avoid this, remind users to adhere to the on screen warnings and ensure proper synchronisation and use of login and logout functions."
What if I get a licence conflict?
If you reach the 5-login limit, log out of an unused device, or have an administrator deactivate one of the active logins in Handyman Office under Configuration → User.
