What is the Travel Log integration?
The Travel Log integration connects the Guard Systems GPS travel tracking service to Handyman. Once connected, field workers can see their recorded trips in Handyman Mobile and assign them to orders. The trip data (distance, duration, start/end points) is then available for reporting and payroll processing in Handyman Office.
What are the prerequisites?
- An active travel log license assigned to you in Handyman Office
- An account with Guard Systems (Guard Log / Guard Systems Travel Log application)
- your Travel Log credentials: Customer ID, User ID (often an email address), and password
What is step 1 — Configure the cost element in Handyman Office?
A cost element must be set up to receive travel log registrations:
- Go to Configuration → Cost element (CTRL+F7)
- Select or create the cost element used for travel registrations
- Go to the tab Driver's log / travel log
- Enable the checkbox in the travel log settings section
- Click OK
you must synchronise their mobile device after this change for the settings to take effect.
What is step 2 — Enter Travel Log credentials in Handyman Mobile?
- On the mobile device, go to Settings → Connections
- Tap Enter Credentials
- Enter the credentials from the Guard Systems / Guard Log application:
- Customer — the Customer ID from the Travel Log application
- User ID — often an email address
- Password — the password set in the Travel Log application
- Tap Confirm
If the credentials are correct, the dialog closes without an error message. If incorrect, an error popup appears — verify your credentials in the Guard Systems application and try again.
What is step 3 — Assign trips to orders in Handyman Mobile?
Once connected, the Travel Log section appears in Handyman Mobile. Field workers can view their recorded trips and tap the order picker icon to assign a trip to an order. The trip data is then sent to Handyman Office on the next synchronisation.
