Can I import a price list created in Excel?
Yes. Handyman does not import Excel files (.xlsx) directly, but you can save your Excel file as a CSV file and import that. The CSV file must follow a specific column structure for the import to succeed.
What format does the CSV file need?
The CSV file must have the following columns in this exact order, with identical column headers:
- Item number — the supplier's article number
- Description — the item name or description
- Unit — unit of measurement (e.g. pcs, m, kg)
- Price — the unit price (use period or comma as decimal separator as configured)
- Discount % — any applicable discount percentage (enter 0 if none)
The file save as a semicolon-separated CSV, encoded as UTF-8. In Excel, choose File → Save As → CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited), then open the file in Notepad and replace commas with semicolons if needed.
How do I import the CSV price list?
Once your CSV file is correctly formatted:
- In Handyman Office, go to Logistics → Supplier
- Select the supplier the price list belongs to
- Click Import price list
- Browse to your CSV file and select it
- Review the preview and confirm the import
