How are projects handled between the two systems?
Projects in Contracting Works are linked to Handyman's extra order category 1. The terminology label for this category is set to Project (CW).
You create new orders in Handyman and link them to the correct CW project. When a project is closed in CW, the integration automatically updates the category in Handyman so it can no longer be used for new orders.
How are dimensions handled?
Handyman supports up to 3 dimensions on an order. If an order has more dimensions than this, the order will be rejected by Handyman.
In the first version of the integration, it is not permitted to add new dimension values in Handyman. New orders receive the dimensions as defined on the project. Note that multiple dimension values can share the same code in CW — this is not supported in Handyman. If duplicate dimension codes exist, only the first one will be used.
How are order descriptions handled?
Handyman updates the first order description on an order with the corresponding field from CW. The maximum length of this field is 4,096 characters. You can add additional descriptions in Handyman, and all descriptions — including the first — are transferred to the invoice text in CW.
How does the "Message to all participants" feature work?
The "sticky note" message feature that was available in Visma Contracting does not exist in CW. Instead, the order's note field is used for this purpose. If you do not want the note to appear on the mobile device, use the customer note field in CW instead.
How is stock, stocktaking, and store movements handled?
Stocktaking can be activated from CW, and the count result is sent back to CW after completion in Handyman Mobile.
Store movements are transferred to CW manually from the integration control panel. Store movements triggered by changes to store content in CW are not yet available from the CW side, so store stock levels are transferred from CW to Handyman every night to keep the data as current as possible. Store stock is still updated automatically when material registrations are imported from orders, as before.
How are order categories synchronised?
Changes to order categories are transferred when the next order is updated in CW. CW supports multiple order categories — in the integration setup, you choose which of these becomes the order category in Handyman.
What basic data is synchronised automatically?
Departments, employees, cost elements, customers, stores, and suppliers are synchronised automatically when they are created or changed in CW. Store stock levels are updated from CW to Handyman every night.
How are historical orders and registrations handled?
A transition date is set in the integration. Orders and registrations that were last changed before this transition date will not be re-imported into Handyman.
