Welcome to the Handyman extension for Business Central
The Handyman extension for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central provides an interface between Business Central and the Field Service Management System Handyman. The main purpose of Handyman is to enable Field Service Technicians to get Business Central orders on their mobile devices and to document the work done in the field on their mobile device. This is then imported in Business Central where the data is used for invoicing, accounting etc.
Typically Business Central users will use Handyman for these tasks:
- Schedule orders created in Business Central via the Handyman Resource Planner, a graphical planning and dispatch board
- Receive complete information on Business Central orders on a mobile device
- Record time and material consumption, add photos and further documentation of the work done and capture signatures on the mobile device.
- Manage required processes, user rights and configuration
In addition, Handyman offers a lot of additional functionality (e.g. manage service contracts, customer web portal, route optimization) that may be activated if needed.
Data is exchanged between Business Central and Handyman via a Webservice. The extension can be customized to reflect individual requirements. In consequence, the way the extension is used in a particular implementation may deviate from the standard described in this document.
