This tab contains technical information about the SQL server version and settings for the Handyman database.
At the top you will see the name of the connected SQL server.
Clicking the button to the right of the text field opens the window to browse for SQL servers and databases.
The drop-down menu labeled Database will allow you to choose the database that you see details for below.
The information window on the right displays the server information and what version of SQL licence is currently being used.
The main thing to note here is that an Express SQL licence will only work as long as the total size of the database is less that 10 gigabytes.
The left menu has options to backup the database, upgrade the databases to the installed version of Handyman Office, and define the default path for storing backups.
The default path is used for backups when Handyman Office is upgraded.
Under other tasks it is possible to manually upgrading the database and is meant as a redundancy function if the upgrading of Handyman Office fails to upgrade the database.
The function of truncating the log file will shrink the logs in the database and use less space.
Some recovery models reduce more than others so this should not be used without consulting the SQL server administrator first.
