The menu for services manages the Windows services used by Handyman to operate different functions.
The list view shows what services are installed for the given client and their current status.
The button menu on the left is contextual and will disable buttons if they are not relevant for the selected service.
Installing new services requires you to have a user account to run them.
Standard practice is to create a separate user to run Handyman related services.
Archive sync connections will save a log of the connections to the server.
This requires a time of day and age before deletion to be specified.
Synchronization Server
This service will always be at the top of the list.
This service is essential for Handyman Mobile users to send and receive orders from the server.
It is also used to export order data from Handyman Office.
File Import
This service is responsible for picking up files from the designated import folder and insert the data into the Handyman database.
Job Agent
This service runs functions that require a timed intervals.
Under the service status is a list of the different functions that it are available and each of these can be assigned their own intervals.
Handyman API
This service is used to process information between ERP systems and Handyman Office.
When installing the service should be set to start automatically and run on the server's local system account.
After installing it is possible to set up what URL external systems use to communicate with Handyman.
Other details to fill in are related to GSGroup's identity management server.
The bottom section shows information about synchronizations from Handyman Mobile users split across four tabs.
On the left hand side is a contextual button that changes depending on what tab you have highlighted.
